Charlotte Fry on Her Winner Glamourdale: ‘He Keeps Getting Better’

Just when everyone thought Martin Fuchs had secured the victory in the Harry Wouters van den Oudenweijer Prize, Sara Vingralkova stormed to a surprising win as the last rider in the jump-off with Constantin 110 (by Colestus). The young Czech student of Jur Vrieling outperformed a strong field of 15 competitors, keeping renowned speed specialists like Martin Fuchs and Julien Epaillard at bay.
Almost a second faster
As the final starter, Vingralkova shaved nearly a full second off the time set by Martin Fuchs and L&L Upgrade (by Ultimo) at the very beginning of the jump-off for this 1.50m class. His clear round in 36.34 seconds was indeed beatable: she finished with 0/35.44. The third place on the podium went to Julien Epaillard. The ‘flying Frenchman,’ who has already collected numerous prizes in Amsterdam, rode Dubai de Soie (by Quaoukoura du Ty) to a time of 0/36.87, securing third place.
One of the best moments
“This is one of the greatest moments of my career,” said 23-year-old Czech rider Sara Vingralkova. “At a 5-star event, with such an amazing atmosphere, in front of packed stands— it just doesn’t get any better than this!”
Support from mentor Vrieling
Vingralkova had the support of her mentor, Jur Vrieling. “He told me to go for it—he really inspired me to ride fast. I was lucky to go last. I had seen Martin Fuchs and Julien Epaillard ride, so I could plan my strategy and knew where I could gain time. And I’m fortunate to have such a great horse. Constantin is naturally quick and always gives his best in the ring. I’m incredibly happy that I was able to make it happen here, at this fantastic event!”
