At the sixtieth edition of Jumping Amsterdam, the FEI Jumping World Cup™ will return to the RAI after ten years. The convention center and the prestigious jumping series go way back: in 1978 the first world cup qualifier jumping was hosted in Amsterdam. The first three editions of the event took place at the former location at the Ferdinand Bolstraat. In 1961 Jumping Amsterdam moved to the ‘new’ RAI at the Europaplein.
Paul Riemens, chairman of the board of Jumping Amsterdam and CEO of RAI Amsterdam: “This edition of Jumping Amsterdam coincides: the sixty-year anniversary, the expansion of an extra hall for exhibitors and the return of the world cup jumping in the program. An excellent moment for the RAI to step in as a sponsor of this world cup qualifier. Jumping Amsterdam and the RAI share a wonderful history together and the international equestrian event is an excellent example of the versatility of the RAI. ”
Amsterdam is the before last qualification of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ season 2018-2019 in the Western European League. In Bordeaux (FRA) jumping riders will get their last chance to earn points for the Final in Göteborg (SWE) in April. During Jumping Amsterdam the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ presented by RAI Amsterdam is included in the program on Friday evening (qualification). On Sunday afternoon 27 January the competition is the closing number of the anniversary edition to which national broadcaster NOS will dedicate a lot of attention to.
