After the success of the previous edition, the Harmony & Fairness Award® will once again return to Jumping Amsterdam in 2025. This prestigious prize will be awarded during the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Grand Prix Freestyle presented by Vriendenloterij and honors the combination that demonstrates the greatest harmony and fairness. The award, which has become a well-established highlight within European equestrian sport, will be presented on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Interactive audience award
The Harmony & Fairness Award® is unique as it actively involves the audience in selecting the winner. Through a live voting system, spectators can evaluate the combinations based on harmony, comfort, and fairness. Both those present in the stands and viewers following online can cast their votes. The combination receiving the highest score wins the coveted award.
An initiative for animal welfare
The Harmony & Fairness Award® was established in 2019 by the Anrecht family, who have been committed to animal welfare in equestrian sports for over 15 years. The award aims to raise awareness about harmony and respectful treatment of horses. It does not focus on technical perfection but instead on the unique bond between rider and horse, performed with sensitivity and respect.
An impressive prize pool
The Harmony & Fairness Award® comes with a prize pool of €10,000 for the winning combination. In 2024, the award was presented to Marlies van Baalen, who, riding Habibi, convinced the audience with her harmonious performance. Once again, this year’s event looks forward to honoring the most harmonious combination.
An exclusive collaboration
Jumping Amsterdam holds the exclusive rights to organize the Harmony & Fairness Award® in the Netherlands. “We are proud to welcome this exceptional award back to Jumping Amsterdam 2025. The award highlights what we as an event stand for: respect for horses, the development of equestrian sport, and the involvement of our audience,” said Irene Verheul, director of Jumping Amsterdam. Not only for the coming year, but Jumping Amsterdam will also remain the home of the Harmony & Fairness Award® in the Netherlands, with the Anrecht family committing to a three-year partnership with the capital’s premier equestrian event.
