Exciting competition in national classes at Jumping Amsterdam
Jumping Amsterdam always warmly welcomes national riders, giving them the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a five-star competition and be inspired to achieve top performances.
The national sport began today with an international flair, as Egyptian rider Ahmed Nasser Elnaggar, competing with a KNHS license, claimed victory in the first class of Jumping Amsterdam 2025, the Telegraaf Prize. The 24-year-old guided the 10-year-old KWPN horse Kennedy HX (by Vittorio) to a faultless round in the 1.35m class, clocking a winning time of 31.64 seconds in the jump-off.
Maud Agterberg
Elnaggar was 0.59 seconds faster than Maud Agterberg, who took second place with the 17-year-old KWPN horse Dakota B (by Calvaro Z). Agterberg has been partnered with this horse, bred by J.G. Boomkamp, since July 2023.
Belgium’s van der Linden takes third
The international dimension was further highlighted by Belgian rider Dries van der Linden, who secured a podium spot in the Telegraaf Prize with the 8-year-old grey Castello Z (by Cornado II). The pair completed the 1.35m jump-off faultlessly in 32.41 seconds.
Joep Schaap dominates
In the 1.30m class, Joep Schaap was in a league of his own with the 12-year-old NRPS mare Cadeauminka (by Kannan). As the only rider to remain faultless in the jump-off, which included nine combinations, Schaap claimed the Stal Bosgoed Prize.
Nienke van Roekel finished second with the 7-year-old KWPN horse Noadermus PP (by Ipsthar). In her race against the clock, Van Roekel, who is also successful in eventing, had one rail down with this horse bred by H. Poppelaars, finishing in 32.50 seconds. Jarno Hesselink closely followed, riding the 7-year-old KWPN horse No Mercy (by Hernandez TN). This pair also incurred a rail, crossing the finish line in 32.58 seconds.
Jessica Bruin lightning fast
Jessica Bruin showed incredible speed with the 6-year-old mare Helia van het Keizershof Z (by Harley VDL) in the IB Makelaars Prize. In the 1.20m jump-off, she outpaced all her competitors with another faultless round, finishing in a remarkable 29.99 seconds.
Marit Hoekstra, riding the grey Qstar (by Quasimodo Z), couldn’t match Jessica’s result and had to settle for second place, delivering a clear round in 30.16 seconds. Tessa Delger completed the all-female podium with the 6-year-old grey Orlando N (by Balou du Rouet), riding a faultless round in 32.61 seconds.
High-level competition in the 1.10m class
The competition in the Aeres MBO Barneveld Prize was fierce. Former Groningen champion Mirre Sterenberg defeated European Championships participant Mienie Vos. In the 1.10m class, Mirre delivered a spectacular clear round with the 12-year-old Ivy’s Hope (by Arlando) in a time of 28.59 seconds.
Mienie Vos, riding the 8-year-old Hastkullens Fantazie (by Falaise de Muze), gave it her best effort to overtake Mirre but fell just short, finishing second with a time of 29.23 seconds. Cindy Kosse rounded out the top three with the 7-year-old KSH Hero d’Itoo Z (by Harley VDL), delivering a faultless jump-off in 30.19 seconds.
