Charlotte Fry on Her Winner Glamourdale: ‘He Keeps Getting Better’

This afternoon, Charlotte Fry delivered a spectacular performance with her top horse Glamourdale (by Lord Leatherdale) in the freestyle to music at Jumping Amsterdam. Scoring an impressive 89.840%, she was unanimously placed first by the judges. Fry outperformed her fellow Brit Becky Moody, who, just like in the Grand Prix, finished second. Moody rode an excellent test with the 11-year-old KWPN horse Jägerbomb (by Dante Weltino OLD), earning 86.500%. The legendary Isabell Werth claimed third place with the 15-year-old DSP stallion Quantaz (by Quaterback), scoring 85.265%. Dinja van Liere was the best Dutch rider, finishing fifth with her 13-year-old KWPN horse Hartsuijker (by Johnson) with a score of 82.645%.

‘Glamourdale Loves Arenas Like This’

Charlotte Fry said: “Glamourdale was amazing again today. We work hard at home to keep improving, and he truly keeps getting better. You could see that reflected in the scores we received. He’s an incredible horse, and he loves arenas like this. We’re planning the rest of the season step by step. Next week, Glamourdale will be honored as Horse of the Year at the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch. The European Championships are our main goal this year, and we’re building toward that.”

‘Jägerbomb is a True Showman’

Becky Moody commented: “Jägerbomb is only 11 years old and keeps getting stronger. He was already phenomenal at the Paris Olympics. He did an amazing job in London, and the pressure on me grew after that, but I’ve learned to handle it well. The crowd here is absolutely fantastic. Jägerbomb is a true showman. I also find it exciting to have beaten Isabell Werth, who has been an inspiration to me for many years.”

‘Quantaz Was Relaxed in the Freestyle’

Isabell Werth shared: “Quantaz was very relaxed during the freestyle in this atmosphere. We didn’t make any mistakes, and he stayed incredibly focused. I’m very happy with him. Today, we witnessed top-level sport. I plan to compete with Quantaz in the World Cup Final and will ride in Den Bosch as well. For Quantaz, it’s important to do a few more competitions to keep him concentrated and focused.”

‘I’m So Proud of Hartsuijker’

Dinja van Liere reflected: “I was really happy with my freestyle and so proud of Hartsuijker. I enjoyed every minute of it. He always gives his best for me, and that feeling is amazing. Hartsuijker keeps getting stronger and continues to improve. He finds the tests easier now compared to a few years ago. It was such a pleasure to ride him here.”
