Harmony & Fairness Award® to debut at Jumping Amsterdam
Amsterdam, November 8, 2023 – Jumping Amsterdam, one of the most prestigious dressage competitions, will present a remarkable highlight in its upcoming edition from January 25-28, 2024 – For the very first time the Harmony & Fairness Award® will be celebrated in the Netherlands. This unique prize will be awarded on Saturday, January 27, 2024, during the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Grand Prix Freestyle presented by Vriendenloterij.
Audience award
The Harmony & Fairness Award® of Anrecht Investment has already made a name for itself throughout Europe and stands for the pursuit of more harmony and fairness in the equestrian world. Unlike traditional dressage competition judging, this time the spectators will be actively involved in the awarding of the prize. Via a special live voting system accessible via smartphones and PCs at www.harmonie-fairnessvoting.de, the audience can rate the starter pairs in the categories of ease, harmony and fairness and thus choose the winner of the Harmony & Fairness Award®.
Even for those who cannot be there in person, this interactive voting offers the opportunity to experience top sport and actively participate in the process of awarding the prize.
Unique initiative
The Harmony & Fairness Award® comes with an impressive prize money of 10.000€ and underlines the outstanding recognition and prestige that this award represents for equestrians. The initiative aims to promote awareness of harmony and fairness in dealing with our sporting partners, the horses, among the general public.
The Anrecht family, who have been passionate about animal welfare in the equestrian world for over 15 years, established the Harmony & Fairness Award® in 2019 to actively promote animal welfare in the sport.
This resulted in the unique initiative, which does not focus on the perfect demonstration of dressage lections, but on the harmonious relationship between rider and horse, sensitive and correct riding as well as respectful handling. This concept hits exactly the nerve of the current zeitgeist in equestrian sports, which advocates fairness and justice in dealing with our faithful sporting partners.
’We at Jumping Amsterdam are delighted to fully support the concept of the Anrecht- Investment Harmony & Fairness Award® and can’t wait to celebrate this special award with the competitors! This award offers innovation for the dressage in general and stands for strengthening the unique bond between rider and their horse, at the same time the spectators are actively involved. That’s what Jumping Amsterdam is all about,’ Irene Verheul, director Jumping Amsterdam, explains.
With the Harmony & Fairness Award®, Jumping Amsterdam together with Anrecht Investment set an example for ethical and responsible equestrian sport and encourages participants to work for harmony, fairness and the welfare of horses. This prize is not only an award, but an instrument of change and a symbol of the efforts of an entire community to strengthen the close connection between humans and animals in equestrian sport.
“Jumping Amsterdam is always looking to improve and innovate. With an award like this we make big steps to secure the wellness of the horses and by allowing the public to vote, we ensure an impartial outcome.”
The Harmony & Fairness Award® has been previously awarded at shows like the Deutsche Spring & Dressurderby Hamburg, Longines Balve Optimum, Pferd International München and at the VR Classics Neumünster. Jumping Amsterdam is proud to be the exclusive partner in the Netherlands.
