SANNE VOETS: ‘JUMPING AMSTERDAM IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR PARA-DRESSAGE’
Sanne Voets took the win with Demantur RS2 N.O.P. (by Vivaldi) in the KNHS Para Equestrian Trophy at Jumping Amsterdam this morning. The para-amazone rode to a top score of 80.500%. Frank Hosmar signed for second place with Alphaville N.O.P. (by Sandreo). The combination received 78.325% from the judges. Maud de Reu came third with Webron (by Sir Sinclair) with 77.677%.
‘He came off the trailer with a lot of energy’
Jumping Amsterdam was Sanne’s first performance again since the World Championships in Herning in August. “Then again it is a bit exciting how my horse reacts. He came off the trailer with a lot of energy and he was very eager to get going.
”The atmosphere is fantastic in Amsterdam”
”At Jumping Amsterdam I really like to ride, because the atmosphere is fantastic. The audience is super enthusiastic. For more than ten years there has been a para class on the program of Jumping Amsterdam. This is very important for us. For new combinations it is nice that they can get used here to a large ring and the entourage around it. This gives us in the Netherlands an advantage over other countries in para dressage. Our horses are then better prepared for a big championship where there is also so much entourage.”
”Gold is my favorite color”
”Our biggest goal is the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. There we want to perform at the top of our abilities. This year we have the European Championships in Riesenbeck. There we would also like to score some nice medals. Gold is my favorite color, though.”
‘Demantur has a small heart’
”Demantur RS2 N.O.P. is very big, but has a very small heart. He is incredibly sweet. When I step on him he is immediately on, pays attention and is well focused. I think he is the most beautiful, sweetest and best horse in the whole world. His self-confidence has grown a lot in recent years and you notice this when you go to a show again since a long time. In the loose riding he immediately gave the feeling that he was ready for it.”
