Tom Schellekens crowns his third year of jumping Amsterdam
Three times is the charm for Tom Schellekens. The young show jumper from Esbeek is attending the Rai for the third year and now a very nice victory was waiting for him. With his top horse Fiarabo (Diarado x Padinus) Schellekens was the strongest in the 1.40m class.
‘My horse turns easily’
Tom started this class with a plan. ”I have a fast horse by nature. At the course I had already made my plan and it worked out well. I was one of the few who rode the turn from obstacle 2 to obstacle 3 inside. I know my horse very well and I know he does such a turn very easily.”
Jumping Amsterdam is top organized
”I think it’s great to ride at Jumping Amsterdam. It is a super nice show that is top organized. I’m here now for the third year.”
”Fiarabo has incredible quality”
Fiarabo and Schellekens are already a well-known combination. “We won the Grand Prix of Lichtenvoorde at the 2* level last year. Fiarabo has incredible quality. In the ring he is very careful, which he proved again today. I hope to get more victories this year. That we can make some more steps to a higher level. Of course competitions and results like this work towards that.”
